DAMASCUS SYRIA (2:20 A.M)- A bill passed through Israel’s Knesset this Wednesday, will allow for Israeli Military courts to sentence Palestinians to death.
The bill, which will permit Israeli military courts to sentence Palestinians to death, was voted on this Wednesday with 120 members voting in favour and 49 voting against it.
Previously Israel had only ruled the death penalty for Nazi war criminals, executing one man back in 1962.
The bill will mean that the death penalty can be handed out to those engaged in “terrorist activities”, defined by Israel as, “a deliberate attempt to murder civilians in order to achieve political, national, religious or ideological objectives.”
Human rights groups have condemned the vote as facist, with the definition of “terrorist activities” being open to translation by the Israeli judge.
