Abbas Shouman, vicepresidente de la Escuela Islámica al-Azhar, declaró a la Agencia Deutsche Press (DPA) durante una entrevista el jueves que el juego para teléfonos móviles “Pokemon Go” está prohibido por la ley islámica.

Shouman aseguró que jugarlo es equivalente a beber alcohol, lo que no se puede hacer si se sigue los preceptos del Islam.

“Influye negativamente en la mente y daña a los jugadores y a sus cercanos sin que puedan advertirlo”, afirmó Shouman a DPA.

La Escuela al-Azhar es considerada una de las instituciones de educación más prestigiosa en estudios islámicos en Egipto, y se encuentra localizada cerca de la mezquita de Al-Azhar.

 El vicepresidente de la escuela destacó que jugar Pokemon Go constituye un pecado, basado en su carácter de obsesión para los jóvenes como la principal razón para su prohibición.

Pokemon Go no se encuentra actualmente disponible en Egipto.
