BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:40 P.M.) – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad told the Senior Assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hussein Jaberi Ansari, that Syria is ready for a political solution after Syrian Army’s latest victories across the country.
President Assad stressed that these achievements reflect the solid will of the Syrian Arab Army and the allied forces in liberating the entire Syrian territory from terrorism.
However, according to Assad, the biggest obstacles impeding peace in Syria are the policies and preconditions set by supporters of terrorism.
The Iranian diplomat discussed the situation with Assad, while also congratulating the Syrian people on their latest achievements on the battlefield.
The meeting was one in a series that are regularly held to exchange reports on diplomatic measures and latest developments with regard to Syrian peace talks of Astana.
