DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:05 A.M.) – The Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad was interviewed by the Serbia-based newspaper “Politika” on Thursday, discussing a wide-range of topics from the situation in Aleppo City to the region impact of the Syrian Conflict.
During the interview, the Serbian journalist asked President Assad if he believed the U.S. attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the Deir Ezzor Governorate on September 17th was a coincidence or premeditated.
President Assad accused the U.S. of purposely carrying out four airstrikes against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA); thus, giving the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) a boost in the Thardeh Mountains.
“It was a premeditated attack by the American forces because ISIS was shrinking,” the Syrian President added.
“It wasn’t by coincidence because the raid continued more than one hour, and they came many times,” President Assad concluded.
The U.S. State Department claimed that the airstrikes were a mistake; however, both the Syrian and Russian militaries believe the attack was no coincidence.
