The Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Defense has accused the Azeri Army of shelling civilian areas inside the villages of Martuni and Martakert in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
According to a tweet from the Ministry of Defense, “Karabakh army never shoots to civilian settlements, but Azerbaijan yesterday shelled Martuni town, besides Martakert & some villages.”
No civilian casualties were reported by either side as a result of this alleged shelling by the Azeri Army.
The two sides are still fighting one another at this disputed area today, despite rumors of a possible ceasefire to halt all hostilities.
Currently, the death toll between the two armies has exceeded 65 military personnel, making this one of the most violent confrontations inside the Nagorno-Karabakh region in recent years.
