BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:10 P.M.) – Two large pro-government demonstrations were reported from the East Ghouta region, today, as the second week of this intense Syrian Arab Army (SAA) offensive concludes.

Residents of Kafr Batna took to the streets of this East Ghouta town this morning to demand the militants leave the area.

Similar to the neighboring town of Al-Hammouriyah, the residents of Kafr Batna also raised the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic in effort to show their desire for peace.

Below is the video of the Kafr Batna demonstration that was released by Damascus Now earlier today

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

They don’t need to deny. The only thing they need to do is continue to control the flow of information. The sad truth is that 99 percent of the population of EVERY country makes a herd of sheep that they can not or do not want to self-denounce, but they leave it to others, such as TV stations and daily newspaper publishers. They do not want to accept what they find on the Internet because it implies that they have to start thinking, which is superfluous because the media are serving such beautiful stories …
