DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian forces defending two government-held towns in northeast Idlib have managed to thwart yet another attack launched by jihadi groups as the towns receive new supplies from the air.
The assault, the second this week, was launched last night from Sawaghuyah axis to the east of Fouaa town and lasted for nearly 10 hours before it was entirely and successfully repelled.
No casualties were reported this time among the defenders who were capable of recapturing two posts they had lost during the battles.
Meanwhile, cargo planes airdropped more supplies into the besieged towns to help local fighters as well as civilians withstand the stifling blockade.
Last Sunday, the local fighters fended off a similar onslaught but lost 6 fighters in the course of the clashes.
