Islamist fighters launched, today, the 2nd phase of their wide-scale offensive on government forces, aimed to break the blockade imposed on the rebel-held districts in the city’s east.
The jihadi groups began their attack with blowing up 2 VBIEDs in New Aleppo district and 1 in the 3000 Residential Project, claiming that scores of Army soldiers and allied fighters have been killed.
Militants also shelled the Assad Military Academy with barrages of rockets, causing substantial material damage to the facility.
Meanwhile, Syria’s State TV reported that at least 5 civilians had been killed, 40 others injured in rebel rocket attacks that targeted the government-held parts in the western Aleppo.
The State TV also cited medical sources saying that 8 civilians had been hospitalized for suffering breathing difficulties; which suggests a gas attack.
Yesterday, the Syrian and Russian governments declared a humanitarian pause on Friday November 4 to provide a safe exist for civilians willing to leave the rebel-held areas.
