The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Al-Ba’ath Brigades (Liwaa Al-Ba’ath) – carried out an ambush at the Central District of Al-‘Amariyya that killed a total of 15 militants from the Islamic Front’s (Jabhat Al-Islamiyya) largest militia, “Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham” (Liberators of the Levant Movement).
The ambush occurred at approximately 10 A.M. on Tuesday, after a contingent of 15 militants from ‘Ahrar Al-Sham was seen by NDF scouts heading towards the Central District from the direction of Al-Rashidiyya. According to a source from the NDF, the assault on the militants was quick, lasting no more than 10 minutes. The source further added that the majority of the militants were foreigners, with at least 2 of them identified as Pakistani nationals.
At the volatile Al-Bureijj front, the SAA continued its counter-offensive in the village of Al-Manaasher, following the Islamic Front’s capture of the East District 2 weeks ago. Firefighters were reported between the SAA and Islamic Front in the northeastern part of the village; furthermore, the violence has yet to dissipate, despite nightfall.
