The evacuation of Aleppo militants has been suspended after rebel forces tried to smuggle out detainees and heavy weapons on their way out of their last enclave of east Aleppo.
According to informed sources, rebel forces breached the deal reached earlier with the Syrian government by not releasing military and civilian detainees before their departure, rather tried to smuggle them out in the green buses.
Moreover, they [militants] shelled the Al-Suqaylabiyah safety corridor and refrained from granting a safe exist to the besieged civilians of Foua and Kafraya in Iblib as stipulated in the agreement.
Thousands of fighters and their families left a small pocket in eastern Aleppo to their final destination to Idlib province through Al-Ramouseh corridor as per an agreement brokered by Turkey and Russia aimed to end the years-long fighting in the stricken city.
The breach might as well jeopardize the implementation of the deal and open the way to resume the military operation launched earlier by the government troops and allied forces to entirely retake the city.
