The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah (Party of God) – have attacked the Islamic Front (Jabhat Al-Islamiyya) militants outside of the Al-Bureijj Stone Quarries and inside the village of Al-Manaasher, killing scores of these fighters, while also confiscating their heavy weaponry in northeast Aleppo.
Last week, the Islamic Front was successful in retaking the village of Al-Manaasher from the SAA; this resulted in their capture of the western perimeter of the Stone Quarries and it allowed for them to launch a counter-offensive into the village of Al-Bureijj.
On the Al-‘Amariyya front in southern Aleppo, the NDF and SAA carried out a number of raids in this village’s Central District, targeting a Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham’s (Liberators of the Levant Movement) hideout after a number of rockets were fired into the Sheikh Sa’eed District. No civilians were harmed by the rockets; however, there was some material damage to the Sheikh Sa’eed Power Plant.
At the Bani Zaid District of the provincial capital, fierce firefights broke-out between the SAA and fighters loyal to the Islamic Front, resulting in increased violence in this strategic area in west Aleppo. Most of the civilians have left this district after heavy firefights, despite this, there are still some residents trapped inside the Islamic Front’s quarter of control.
