DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:49 A.M.) – Over 20 militants belonging to the al Qaeda-linked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) extremist group were killed when Syrian Army missile strikes targeted them in Tal Ahmar located west of Khanasser in Aleppo’s southeastern countryside.

Amongst the neutralized terrorists was the prominent field commander Abu Omirah al-Masri whose nickname implies his Egyptian origin. Recent loyalist advances have allowed the pro-government forces to reign fire control over vital insurgent supply lines through the area making easy targets of rebel reinforcements and vehicles across the open plains of Aleppo’s countryside.

Several pick-up trucks and armored vehicles were destroyed in the latest strikes. Rebels continue to find themselves in a more precarious disposition west of the Ithriya-Khanasser supply route as they lose strategic heights commanding the area.

The government offensive is expected to pick up steam soon when the full offensive might of the Syrian Armed Forces finish mobilizing in northwest Syria from the eastern part of the country where the operations against the Islamic State terrorist faction are drawing to a conclusion.
