BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:50 A.M.) – A commander of the Al-Qaeda linked Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham rebel faction was severely wounded, Thursday, when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in eastern Hama.

According to opposition activists, Abu Yousef Helfaya was traveling through the Barisha Mountains in the Hama Governorate on Thursday night when his vehicle exploded because of the roadside bomb.

Abu Yousef Helfaya has since been transferred to a local field hospital, where he is seeking treatment for his wounds.

No information was released regarding whether or not he will survive.
