The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – in cooperation with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – has captured 4 buildings at the Al-Zahra Associations Quarter in west Aleppo City after militants from the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Nusra Front and Jaysh Al-Mujahedeen attempted to infiltrate into the Air Force Intelligence vicinity.

The militant groups attempted to breach an SAA contingent’s defenses at a checkpoint in the Al-Zahra Associations Quarter; however, they were repelled and countered, leading to their subsequent withdrawal from 4 buildings they used as launching points to attack loyalist forces and infiltrate into this quarter of Aleppo City.

7 soldiers from the SAA and 2 NDF fighters were reportedly killed during these clashes with the militant groups; meanwhile, the Al-Nusra Front and Jaysh Al-Mujahedeen suffered 23 confirmed casualties during firefights on Monday morning.
