Mohammad Nour of Al-Jazeera

The Sheikh Miskeen front in the Dara’a Governorate has become a volatile area for any human to enter; this was especially true for the Al-Jazeera correspondent, Mohammad Nour. Nour was wounded earlier today traveling with Jabhat Al-Nusra through the barrage of artillery shells exchanged between the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Division and the latter in the South District of Sheikh Miskeen. As of 3 P.M. Damascus Time, Nour’s medical status has not been updated – his well-being is unknown.

The tumultuous roar of gunfire being exchanged and the numerous bombs dropped by the Syrian Air Force have only intensified the clashes between Jabhat Al-Nusra and the 5th Division inside the city. Casualties have been extremely high for all parties involved in this battle, as both sides continue their persistent retreat and attack methods that have become prevalent with the significant loss of life in Sheikh Miskeen.

Earlier today, Jabhat Al-Nusra’s “1st Corps” was unable to maintain their positions in the South District, suffering heavy casualties before withdrawing to the border town of Ibta’a. Violent firefights are still ongoing inside the city, where the 5th Division is currently on the move near the Sheikh Miskeen Cemetery in the East District. Jabhat Al-Nusra is in firm control of the West District after the 5th Division withdrew from the captured checkpoints yesterday morning.

Identified Jabhat Al-Nusra fighters killed at Sheikh Miskeen:

1. Abdullah Mohammad Al-Sa’adi
2. Saqour Fayaz Al-Malahi
3. Yousif Lawrence Al-Qarfaan
4. Sultan ‘Abdel-Ghani Nasraat

In the Al-Quneitra Governorate, the National Defense Forces (NDF) has withdrawn from their positions at Bayt Teema and Bayt Saabr, located on Mount Hermon. According to a military source, the Jabal Sheikh front in Al-Quneitra has intensified as the Syrian Revolutionary Front (SRF) and Jabhat Al-Nusra continue their offensive in this mountainous area.
