A convoy of trucks loaded with fuel, gas cylinders and food has made its way into the government-controlled western parts of Aleppo where more than 1.5 million civilians live.

The trucks entered the city from the northern Castello road which had been liberated by the Syrian Army some 3 weeks ago after defeating jihadi groups.

Once under the jihadist control, the Castello road had for long served as the main and only supply route to rebel-held parts in the city’s east.

The Syrian government was quick to supply the civilians in the areas it controls with essentials after jihadi fighters managed to cut off the government supply route in the south of the embattled city of Aleppo.

I’m pro-Assad (for the most part) but I have to say – if these trucks can reach West Aleppo down the Castello Road then al-Qaeda is also bypassing the SAA “fire control” in Ramouseh.

If you have reason to believe otherwise (such as local topography or tall buildings) please let me know.

I’m just staring at the map and drawing what seems to be an obvious conclusion. It looks to me like the claims of “fire control” by pro-SAA articles and comments are wishful thinking.

Hopefully all the noise about the buildup for a massive counterattack is true…
