BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:20 P.M.) – Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham has formally rejected the ceasefire that was announced earlier today in the northwestern region of Syria.
In a statement released this afternoon, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham said they reject any ceasefire with the Syrian and Russian armed forces, vowing to keep fighting them in northwestern Syria.
Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham is one of the largest rebel groups in Syria; they make up a large portion of the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front.
Despite Ahrar Al-Sham’s rejection, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has not launched an attack in northwestern Syria today.
The Syrian military has also halted their airstrikes over the Idlib and Hama governorates in order to adhere to the ceasefire that was brokered by the Russian Armed Forces.
