BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – Footage has been released on social media showing the complete flattening of a residential building in Raqqa city at the hands of Coalition airpower. The entire event was captured from the perspective of a nearby drone camera.
According to pro-Kurdish sources, the airstrikes were targeting ISIS positions.
At the present time, Kurdish-led forces in Raqqa have wrested control of about 75 percent of the city from ISIS militants. This has result been achieved after 15 weeks of non-stop battle between US-backed fighters and the Islamic State inside Raqqa’s residential areas.
With jihadist militants more-or-less cornered in the northern suburbs of Raqqa, many opposition sources and Coalition analysts are now claiming that the battle for the city is in its final stages and that the area will be completely cleared of terrorist forces by the middle of October.
