On Saturday, the Lebanese security forces announced the arrest of a Lebanese national in the northern countryside of Zgharta after he was discovered of having connections to the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS).
It said that Ahmed Ali al-Ghourani was detained inside the town of Miryata in Zgharta on suspicion of contacting terrorist groups.
In the northern city of Tripoli, Syrian national Abdullah Jamal Darwish was arrested for his connections to the Islamic State extremist group.
The detainees have been referred to the concerned authorities.
The army and security forces have in recent months arrested scores of terror suspects linked to groups involved in the Syrian conflict.
