Damascus, SANA – More aid supplies were delivered Thursday in the terrorists-besieged Yarmouk Camp neighborhood in southern Damascus.

251 food packages, containing bread, sugar, and food supplements, were distributed to the residents, while 31 patients were evacuated from the neighborhood and taken to hospitals in Damascus city.

The distribution was carried out by the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) with the full support and help of the Syrian government.

Director-General of GAPAR Ali Mustafa told SANA that the food packages were distributed at sites in Palestine Street near Yarmouk Municipality and in Nisreen Street in al-Tadamon neighborhood.

He noted that 5054 food packages have been distributed since aid distribution was resumed on March 5th, 2015.

A total of 61084 food packages and 11618 health packages have been distributed in the neighborhood since January 30th, 2014.

The number of people evacuated for treatment since January 2014 has amounted to 4804.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
