At least 6 rebel fighters were killed in southern Syria as they attempted to cross a barren area to Lajat lava field in the eastern part of Daraa province.
According to a military source, the Army units spotted a group of militants in Jibab al-Sha’aer area in the northern countryside of Daraa en route to the rebel-held Lajat.
The ambush killed at least 6 militants and injured many others.
Meanwhile, the government forces continue to advance in several parts of the southern province. The government troops recaptured, yesterday, the strategic Al-Ayoun hilltop located between al-Faqi and Barqa towns, thus inching closer to the rebel stronghold of Jasim.
