Bas News quoted Joint Operations major Shokr Mahmoud as saying that ISIS shelling which targeted the districts of al-Bakr, al-Aalam, Muharibin and al-Zohour in eastern Mosul, has killed 17 civilians and injured another 13 on Thursday.
This comes as Iraq has announced that over 70% of eastern Mosul has been liberated from ISIS terrorists.
Iraqi forces are closing in on the Tigris River which splits Iraq’s second largest city in two. The capture of all of eastern Mosul will further secure districts from ISIS shelling.
