On Saturday afternoon in the Latakia Governorate's northeastern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army's 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard - in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and the Syrian Resistance - imposed full control over 3 villages in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

The Syrian Arab Army's 103rd Brigade and their allies seized the villages of Kadeen, Mughayriyah, and Binjazi this morning after taking a three week long hiatus from the Jabal Al-Akrad front to focus on Jabal Al-Turkmen (Turkmen Mountains).

The aforementioned villages are situated to the northeast of the strategic town of Salma in Jabal Al-Akrad, which is considered to be one of the most important sites in the Latakia Governorate's northeastern countryside that is under the control of the Islamist rebels from Jabhat Al-Nusra.

With the capture of these three villages this morning, the Syrian Arab Army's 103rd Brigade and their allies (primarily the Syrian Social Nationalist Party) are steadily working to encirce the imperative town of Salma, as they push from two different axes along the Jabal Al-Akrad front.
